Do You See What I See – Todd Agnew and Friends

One of our favorite Christmas albums is relatively new (2006) and unknown. “Todd Agnew and Friends, Do You See What I See?” The lyrics on all of the songs are deep and meaningful-we think Todd Agnew wrote all of the songs and had several of his musical friends participate in the album: including Joy Whitlock, Christy Nockels, and Mike Weaver (Big Daddy Weave). We could write a whole page on how great these songs are, but one in particular is so tender and loving. It’s sung by Vince Lichlyter. The song is called “This is all I have to give” and is written from the perspective of Jesus’ earthly father Joseph. He says that he dreamed of the day he would have a son and be able to hold His hand.

“I’d always hoped you’d have my eyes, and maybe a bit of the skill of my hands, but as I look into your eyes, I see your hands created mine”

Another favorite is the lullaby that Elizabeth sings to the baby John the Baptist. It’s so touching.

If Christmas is more than gifts and parties; if Christmas is an important day to remember Who loves you best and most; then you’ve simply got to listen to this album. We were washing dishes this morning and had it playing in the background and both of us just smiled at the depth of the lyrics and the great music that this album contains.
